Spelling Bee

Ethan made it into the school spelling bee this year. To pick which students will go the school tests every student in the class on a list of spelling words, then the top ten are chosen and then they give them another test and take the top three students and those students advance to the spelling bee. The spelling bee is done on grade level. There were 14 first graders competing. Ethan made it all the way to the final three and then got out on the word Guitar. It was fun to watch all the kids try and they all did so well. You could tell that they were nervous, but I was impressed at they words that they were already spelling for being in first grade. Making it into third place makes Ethan the substitute speller in case on of the other spellers doesn't make it for some reason. We are really proud of Ethan and it was neat because the two other boys that made it in to the spelling bee from his class are both great little boys and one of them is Ethan's really good friend. There were also some other boys from our ward that made it in too, so it was fun to go and be able to support them all.
