The Fire Station

For Preschool today we went on a field trip to the Fire Station. We started out the trip by having one of the Fireman explain fire safety to the boys. He talked about not playing with matches or fire and what to do if someone is, stop dropping and rolling, when to call 911, how to test the door with your hand, crawling under the smoke to get out, and what you can do to let the fireman know where you are. It was good to have those reminders myself and it made me realize that we really need an emergency plan for our family. Good idea for f.h.e. After fire saftey we went and saw the fire trucks. The boys were in heaven. The fireman showed them where they sit and took them around the trucks and showed them where their many tools are stored in the truck. The boys got to climb in and out of the trucks and even sit in the drivers seat. They then got to see the fireman put on his uniform and explain what each piece of clothing protects. The boys then got to try on the firemans jacket and air tank. The fireman then gave each boy a fire saftey fun bag and a plastic fireman hat. I was amazed how much those trucks carry and how many situations they are prepared for. The fireman were so nice and we all had a great time.

Pumpkin Patch Fieldtrip

We went to the pumpkin patch on Tuesday with Ethan's preschool group. I left Landon with a babysitter and was able to go and spend some fun one on one time with Ethan. We started out with a hay ride around the patch, then the kids did the straw maze. Ethan had so much fun in the straw maze I think he did it like three times. All the kids were then allowed to pick there very own little pumpkin. Then the boys did some pumpkin coloring pages while they waited for juice and popcorn. Ethan had a fun time and I was glad to be able to have some special time with my sweet boy. He hasn't stopped talking about his pumpkin and how much he loves it. He was even carrying it around the house with him yesterday.

Swim Lessons

Madie and Ethan started swim lessons last week. We have been going everyday and the kids have been loving it. I was a little nervous about how Ethan would do, but he has really surprised me and is doing great. Madie has done swim lessons in the past, but she was so afraid that we only had her do them before to help her not be afraid. It has been wonderful to see her this time with no fear and actually grasping and practicing the techniques she is being taught. The teacher is very nice and sweet with the kids. There are five children in the class, but yesterday there was only Madie, Ethan, and one other little boy. They have been playing fun games, practicing doing their bubbles and arms, they had a saftey day with life jackets and emergency pool training, yesterday they jumped into the pool from the side. Ethan was afraid and wouldn't do it, but finally we got him to jump in from sitting on the side instead of standing. It has been fun to see their progression and I am glad they are having fun. They are excited for Friday their last day because they get to go down the water slide and I promised them a snow cone afterwards.

Dropps

Through my design mom link I heard about a new laundry detergent called Dropps, it uses little packaging, and is more earth friendly. If you go to their website and click on where to buy you can have a rebate coupon sent to you for a free 20 pack. Here is the tricky part it might not be available in your area. It isn't in mine, but it is where my mom and in-laws live, so I guess I will just wait and use it when I visit them. So if it's not available in your area, then check and see if it is available somewhere where you will be. If anyone tries it and likes them let me know. When I finally get mine all report back to everyone what I thought.
